A still of Craig Crossland surfing amid the pilings of an abandoned amusement park on the water called the Pacific Ocean Park Pier, which the locals called "P-O-P". The huge pilings and piers formed a U shape...a secret cove. It was a dangerous place to surf, wood pilings jutting from the water, unexposed hazards under the water and a tight takeoff spot that required jockeying for position.

I've decided this is the best surf blog on the whole darn internets. From the captions, photos, video links, moon phase graphic, handmade link buttons and witty content it's all top notch.

Being primarirly a skateboarder, I was amped to see the Dogtown flick when it came out. However, the surfing scenes in the beginning are what really captivated me. I just love all the symbology and metaphorical possibilities of surfing through the remenants of a decaying pleasure pier. Radical.
Ask GAr Swanson about POP . He owns Cascade surfboards up there.
