Water Logging

NW WIND 10 TO 15 KT. WIND WAVES 2 FT. W SWELL 6 FT AT 9 SECONDS.
This pic is of a logger/diver harvesting timber in the reservoir of the Tucurui dam. Wearing oversized goggles to protect his eyes from flying wood chips, he wields an underwater chain saw, cutting submerged trees into manageable lengths for shipmates to retrieve.
In Oregon, there are companies retrieving old growth logs that have been in the water for almost 100 years. Timber and logs that were lost in transit over the years and also timber and whole forests left underwater due to flooding from dams. The wood is generally well preserved and while more costly to process and mill, it is prized for it's tight grain and unique color characteristics.
Local Report:
...went out swimming with a surfboard in confused seas. Felt seasick. People were not amused by me, except my friend. I think the other two guys thought they were surfing. We werent, it was silly. ~stiffler
