SW WIND 15 TO 20 WITH GUSTS TO 25 KT...VEERING TO W AFTER MIDNIGHT. WIND WAVES 5 FT. W SWELL 9 FT AT 7 SECONDS...SUBSIDING TO 7 FT AT 8 SECONDS.
There's a certain allure in the simplicity of the a hand crafted wooden board...
A board that is carved, before it's carved.
A board that has solidity and weight.
A board to be reckoned with and taken seriously.
A board that is unlikely to snap or ding.
A board that will hold it's line once it's set.
A board of substance and balance.

Amazing pic. WOuld love to shape a wooden board. In fact, trying very hard to find out a way.

not much to it..
find a fat slab of some tight grained wood with a decent strength to weight ratio.... Sitka spruce? get a a jack plane, block plane, handsaw and some sawhorses..
the hard part would be trying to approximate the rocker we've all come to appreciate. you might do better to try and re-create one of the old hot-curl boards.
