Eagle Has Landed

N WIND 20 TO 25 KT WITH GUSTS TO 30 KT. WIND WAVES 6 FT. NW SWELL 7 FT AT 10 SECONDS.
Picked up a package on Wednesday...
A long cardboard box...
That I have been waiting for all summer...
Inside was a 10' 6" Skip Frye Eagle...
Rode it last night...
All right and all rights...
Off the cape near the prehistoric monolith...
I'm sure it'll go left too...
Just haven't had a chance to find out...
One thing it does go is...
FAST!

That is a nice board from a superb shaper. Riding that must be like turning the tap on a stoke faucet.

You're a lucky boy Doc, but what on earth are you doing on the beach with shoes on?

I listened to the podcast where Skip said that he doesn't take custom orders... Somebody's a made man!

Sweet Board! What size of fin is in that board? How far forward do you put that fin in the box?

8" with a a single...
7" with sidebites...
Fin 1 shaka from the tail ala JP at Surfy...
That'd be xactly 9"...

You put an 8 1/2 inch fin in that 10'6"?? I thought that for a 10'6" you would put a 9.25 exactly 9 1/2 inches from the tail?

Hey Doc? You know skip?

How did you get an Eagle from such a busy and sought after shaper? Especially in Oregon?

I was so exited about the board that I got the fin measurements wrong...
It was an 8 & 1/2" fin 9" from the tail per Skip's recommendation...
And go 7 1/2" with side bites...
I started with that and have since gone with a 10" fin single and tri...
I've moved it around a bit but can't really argue with Skip's placement advice...
As to getting the Eagle...
I have a family connection with Skip...
That's why it only took 3 months...
Well worth the wait.
