I bet just south of the dead whale was working. But not as well as The Ranch was back in mexico last week. But I'm paying for it with my bum, eating yogurt and charcoal....
Actually I do know how big and nasty it is writer, I love it when it's all crazy like that (not for surfing but...) I used to go to the s. jetty and watch those huge left pile through and wonder if they were rideable. It wasn't 30 foot and stormy...more like 20 foot and clean...Eddie might have gone, I didn't...Monday's 13 foot swell with 2 foot wind waves looks a bit more appealing...
Hey needs a new roof...got some extra water coming in or what...what'd winds top out at? Any idea?
Mid 80's briefly here. Waves tried to come over the cape and were rejected by the wind sending them backwards. My roof is intact, the neighbor lost a window, some roof and a variety of other things that weren't nailed down.
Those lefts are ridden, dead low to incoming tide if you have the balls...I have, twice...not for the timid and a rescue boat is a good thing! It stands up to any size swell ( I think 50' might close it out though) Yesterday was a certain spot a bit..ah...inland, like where a baby sleeps...lol! Two guys were out at a spot where you seek higher education while eating cereal out of a...now thats cryptic but you know the spot. Waves across the bar were at 25' or so.
When I (momentarily) contemplated trying to surf there over 10 years ago...it was the only place I found that even looked ridaeable...I would have been solo and have had to jumped off the jetty to get to it...
I was talking with a guy I used to surf the point with (Chris)about it and he opined I would never have made it out of the jetty rip...then would have got rolled, my leash would have broken, the only good part was I probably would drown or be killed before I washed onto the rocks in the cove and got mangled...
So yeah, rescue boat & big, big stones would be required...

Winds NUKED this morning decapitating the swell. Didn't see any novice fat girls with rentals.
