Horse Surfing

NE WIND 20 TO 30 KT. WIND WAVES 5 FT. W SWELL 3 FT AT 16 SECONDS.

I don't know...
Surfing seems risky lately...
The Seaside charger that got bounced...
KGW news breaking hard...
Icy roads, cold wind, power outages...
Maybe take up a flat water pursuit...
Like canoeing, or lake kayaking...
Or the hot new fad...
Horse surfing...
Nah.

The story on Thursday's Seaside ride...
The surfer in question was an experienced local...
Per his brother, the swell was maxing...
On a 10 foot plus high tide to boot...
He scored a solid barrel and kicked out...
Duck dove the next wave...
But got pushed into the rocks...
The next surge doubled up...
Tore his board from his hands...
Picked him up and slammed him...
When the water cleared he was about 5 feet...
From the base of the cliff, high and dry...
Probably 30 feet from the normal water line...
Apparently, up and around...
But outta the water for a bit.

Whoa, story is great because that can happen anytime at any break. You're always on the ocean time.
