Good Advice

SW WIND 20 TO 25 KT WITH GUSTS TO 30 KT. WIND WAVES 6 FT. W SWELL 10 FT AT 12 SECONDS.
Came across this in my late night interweb ramblings at some surf blog...tried to find it again but couldn't.
Some take this saying as harsh, or mean-spirited, or self serving...but it isn't.
Surfing will stop you from getting almost anything done...in a timely manner.
"If you don't Surf, don't start"...is excellent advice for the non-surfer.

Don't move to Oregon and surf.

Teaching someone to surf isn't unlike procreating. One person took you surfing your first time, so it understandable to teach one person to surf. Teach any more than one and you are being irresponsible.

And please try not to procreate, but practice at will.

Good analogy. Its also like the flu virus. Be careful, dont be going around infecting everybody. We certainly don't want a pandemic on our hands now do we!

I think for every one person you teach you should be required to vibe 3 badly enough to make them quit.

All the millennium surfers should quit. i.e. started 2000 and after. Fucking huge jump in the last 7 years!

If you weren't born here, don't surf here.

Better yet, don't surf, simple and plain. don't think about it, dream about it, or talk about it.
