Been a stellar run of waves, wind & weather over the last week. Got out Friday for a fun few hours. Pretty busy for Surf in Oregon due to the holiday weekend. Looks like the east winds will hold through tomorrow then return later in the week. Get it while you can.

SE WIND 10 TO 15 KT. WIND WAVES 3 FT. W SWELL 8 FT AT 15 SECONDS.
I tried and I tried.
But I could not escape the Valley of Work.
That left looks pretty surfable.
8 foot swell pushing with offshore winds...
Argghhh!

SE WIND 5 TO 10 KT. WIND WAVES 2 FT. NW SWELL 11 FT AT 12 SECONDS.
...to get barrelled.
Yeah, I know.
Getting out to this wave would likely require Herculean effort.
Staying in position, a Sisiphysian pratice in futility.
But, when all is said and done...
Fa la la la la...
La la la la.

S WIND 20 TO 25 KT WITH GUSTS TO 30 KT. WIND WAVES 7 FT. SW SWELL 14 FT AT 13 SECONDS...BUILDING TO 16 FT AT 14 SECONDS. SCATTERED SHOWERS BEFORE DARK...THEN SHOWERS AND A SLIGHT CHANCE OF TSTMS.
That's a wordy forecast. Bottom line?
Seven foot slop backed up by 14 foot + beatdowns.
Ah, Oregon...heaven on Earth.
That said, certainly surfable.
Just only in the exact right place.
With the right mindset.
Conditioning.
Testicles.

NE WIND 5 TO 10 KT. WIND WAVES 1 FOOT. W SWELL 9 FT AT 17 SECONDS.
Last nite's sunset screamer...
At Oregon's least surfed spot...
Got out the day prior...
Chest high peelers into the shallows...
Aggro feinting sea lions...
And shiver inducing lulls...
The water was warmer than the air...
And the ice cold beer...
Was warmer than my core.

WIND 10 KT. WIND WAVES 1 FT. NW SWELL 6 FT AT 10 SECONDS.
Some days...
The sea is all the company I need...
She has innumerable moods...
Sometimes playful...
Occasionally a bad attitude...
But always full of personality.

NW WIND 10 KT WITH GUSTS TO 15 KT... BACKING TO W IN THE AFTERNOON. WIND WAVES 1 FOOT. W SWELL 5 FT AT 11 SECONDS.
North coast forecast...
South coast cam...
Looking pretty small...
All in all...
Living up to it's name...
Derived from the Latin...
Mare Pacificum, or "peaceful sea"...
Bestowed upon it by the Portuguese explorer...
Ferdinand Magellan.
